Cilasoft Announces Version 5.0 of System i Security Suite

Cilasoft Security Solutions today announced the introduction of Version 5.0 of its System i Security and Compliance Suite. This is a major update to Cilasoft's flagship products QJRN/400 and CONTROLER and demonstrates again the company's dedication to their existing customers and to the IBM System i platform. In addition, the suite has been expanded to include the new Cilasoft product "Database View Monitor for i" or "DVM".

QJRN/400 is a highly customizable solution for database change auditing. It is also the Cilasoft tool for monitoring and reporting on events from the security audit journal(QAUDJRN) and other system journals. What sets QJRN/400 apart, is its highly flexible, highly customizable filtering capabilities and vast reporting/alerting capabilities. The new version includes numerous ease-of use enhancements. In addition, new reporting options include rich pdf output with customizable graphics, encryption and password protection. Important fields within a report can be made to stand out with a new colorized highlighter feature. New real-time alert methods have been added and enhanced, including an enhanced MS/Windows Pop-up alert window, and more secure sending of reports via FTP. Reporting on security-related and database events to SYSLOG format has been updated and enhanced to now easily allow customers to monitor their systems through a stand-alone SYSLOG console, or enterprise event console.

Cilasoft's CONTROLER product provides for highly customizable auditing and granular control of network transactions through FTP, ODBC, File Transfer, DDM, Remote command, etc. But CONTROLER is not just a network exit program solution. Now, CONTROLER can also monitor and control the use of ALL Control Language commands and enforce rules for ALL command parameter usage. CONTROLER can also monitor and control the use of all SQL database access using tools like STRSQL, RUNSQLSTM, RUNQRY, ODBC, etc.

Also new in Version 5.0, CONTROLER is the only commercial exit point solution for the System i that can effectively audit and control DRDA(Distributed Relational Database Access) transactions across systems. Other exit point software packages can only monitor the DRDA "Connect" function. CONTROLER is able to audit and control the entire DRDA session, including all SQL statements run during a DRDA connection.

The new "Database View Monitor for i", or "DVM", is a revolutionary new product that allows the security officer or auditor to monitor access to System i database records. Cilasoft's QJRN/400 product monitors database files for adds/changes and deleted records. But "DVM" will monitor "record view" events. Being able to identify who "looked at" a particular database record is critical when it comes to PCI compliance and monitoring un-sanctioned access to records containing sensitive or private information. The suite is already compatible with the new operating system, 7.1 , that was just announced by IBM.
